The Feast at Lele is different from all the other Luaus on Maui in that:

  1. You have your own table and you are not sitting with 8-40 other people
  1. No Buffet; this is a 5 course sit down dinner that will be served to you by waiters in authentic attire.
  1. The authentic Polynesian menu was created by 1 of Maui’s top gourmet chefs! The cuisine is excellent (if a bit different than the normal Luau fare)
  1. You are eating, drinking AND watching the Polynesian Hula show all throughout the evening
  1. You will see by our Photos that the stage is literally only feet from the beach and ocean~ you can’t beat the view!

One of the things we like best at the Feast at Lele is that there is no waiting….

  • No waiting in line
  • No waiting to be seated
  • No waiting for a Maitai
  • No waiting for food
  • No waiting for the show

When we arrived at the Feast @ Lele, we were greeted by a Hawaiian lady with beautiful purple orchid flower leis and a welcoming Maitai.   While we were being escorted~ by a handsome young local boy in authentic attire~ to our private table we stopped to take pictures of the Tiki carvers and to look at the Hawaiian Jewelry.  We arrived at our table to find appetizers in the form of Banana & Sweet Potato Chips served w/a Tropical Ginger & Ogo Salsa waiting for our arrival.

Our waiter brought out our first course & explained to us what everything is. The tour through the Pacific Islands starts with our favorite~ Hawaii!

  •  Imu Roasted Kalua Pig – Pork seasoned w/Hawaiian Salt, cooked in an underground oven, shredded & served on Steamed Cabbage
  • Pohole Ferns Shoots & Heart of Palm Salad tossed in a light Vinaigrette Dressing
  • Fresh Island Fish w/ Mango Sauce & a Fruit Salsa (see photo farther down)
  • Poi *hint dip your pig into the poi (you have at least try it)

As we enjoyed eating the cuisine of Hawaii as we watched several dances of Hawaiian Hula at the same time. When pau (finished) visiting the Islands of Hawaii, our waiters pulled our plates, brought us another round of cocktails and give us a few minutes to take a quick break.

On to Aotearoa-New Zealand! This course consists of :

  • Duck Salad – Shredded Duck on Kula Greens
  • Bean Sprouts & Carrots w/Poha Berry Dressing
  • Kuku Patties – Maori Fishcake w/Fresh Fish
  • Shrimp & Scallops served on a Honey Corn Relish
  • Harore Kumara – Roasted Mushrooms, Sweet Potato & Onion, sautéed in Soy & Garlic

While you enjoy the foods of theNew Zealanders; you will watch the traditional hula dancers of Aotearoa, including the poi ball girls and the male Warriors as then attempt to make friends with someone in the audience.

Order another cocktail, take a short break and we are off to visit the Island nation of Tahiti. The enchanting beauty and charm of ancient Tahitian dances are unforgettable. The pulsing drums, the blur of the hips shaking and the unmistakable energetic performance that is Tahitian dance. Our menu consisted of :

  • Fafa – Chicken wrapped in Taro Leaf, steamed in Coconut Milk, Lemongrass & Ginger (see photo above)
  • E-iaota (Poisson Cru) – Raw Fish marinated in Lime Juice & Coconut Milk w/Tomatoes  Carrots, Onions, Cucumber & Cilantro
  • Scallops on the Shell – Baked Scallops w/Sweet Potato & Spinach in a Lobster Cream Sauce topped w/Bread Crumbs.

Another short break & our fourth course of the evening is from Samoa, known for their famous Fire Knife Dancers!  Before the big Fire Knife Dance finale, we get to try Samoan favorites like :

  • Supasui – Grilled Flank Steak-marinated in a Soy, Ginger, Guava Glaze ’mmm very tender’
  • Palusami – Breadfruit & Squash cooked in Young Taro Leaf & Coconut Cream
  • Shrimp, Avocado & Fresh Fruit tossed in a Lilikoi Dressing

Your waiter will bring you a dessert tray where everyone at your table can try several types of Hawaiian style desserts like :

  • Carmel Mac Nut Tart topped w/Haupia (Coconut Pudding) *Haupia is very popular here in Hawaii. We make Haupia Cake, pudding, Ice Cream etc.
  • Hawaiian Chocolate Truffles
  • Fresh Exotic Tropical Fruits

Are we full yet? YES!

Even though the Feast at Lele is not a buffet, there is so much food; you are quite full by the end of this Hawaiian Luau. Everything is brought ‘family style’ on large plates, placed in the center of your table; you take however much you want from each plate and put it on your plate.

The Feast at Lele is our best choice for a romantic Luau. Even the show Mother Nature puts on can be spectacular! If you choose the feast at Lele, this will be a special l evening you will remember always.

*Lele is the ancient name for Lahaina, and this is the beach where the royal family of Maui would feast, play and entertain…
